The most advanced Salon in Town

Posted by Mesina on 12/19/2009

I just had my hair cut and colored and they didn't cut one single hair or put one drop of color on my hair. Veda is the first salon and spa that I have ever seen that can do image consulting with high tech software, computers and flat screeen televeision monitors. Rick, the owner, took a picture of my face with my hair pulled back so that the photo was pretty much of my face without hair (he told my this so that hairstyles would not have my hair in the image. Without even connecting it to the computer, my picture appeared within a minute or so in their program. I don't know how he did it. We then went into a very relaxing consultation room and he brought my face up on the television and then proceeded to ask me questions about preferred length, style, color, etc and within about 4 minutes he had about 25 different styles and different colors. He printed them out for me and now I can show my boyfriend when he gets back from Afganistan next week to see which style he likes best. I plan to have it done at Veda with Jasmine, who is to die for. I cut my hair in a very short style a couple of years ago and hated it, but it was too late. I had to wait almost 2 years while it grew out. Veda is the best and Jasmine is top level. She has an "understudy" (I don't know if that's what you call them in a salon) named Brittany and she is new. She's giving introductory prices and I love her work.

Be careful; I got a BAD haircut here

Posted by SZolt on 10/26/2009

I got my haircut at Veda once by John and it was a great cut. He left town, and my next cut I scheduled with Daniel who has 20yrs experience. He gave me a bad haircut. I told him I wanted about 4 inches off, and about 4 inches of layers at the bottom. I got 6+ inches of layering, very short in front and long in the back, and no blending at all. I have short chunks right next to long ones. It looks bad. I called back the next day to try to get in to get the cut fixed before I left town. The receptionist said he was booked, but took my name and number, said she would tell Daniel I wanted to come back to have him fix the cut. I called again later in the day, same story. When Daniel heard I was not happy, I thought he would make an effort to fit me in. Nothing happened, ever. I had to go out of town with a bad cut, with my resentment for the salon and its poor service building. I will never go back to Veda after this. And the cut was expensive, $55! Daniel spent much more time and attention to talking constantly than he did to my hair. He also put a glob of stuff in my hair that made it look greasy after drying, as if I had not washed my hair in days. Not a good experience. I am going to another salon to get my hair fixed, and obviously will have to pay again. Don't go to Veda!
